Pennsylvania's Magisterial District Courts are considered "minor courts," with limited jurisdiction as defined by Pennsylvania statute 42 Pa.C.S. § 1515. Each Pennsylvania county except Philadelphia has a Magisterial District Court. These courts are intended to provider faster, simpler court access for lower-level legal matters.
